Well! Well! Gordon Brown and his beleaguered Labour Party have been roundly trounced in Friday's local government elections in the UK --all told, the Labourites seemed to have lost some 300 seats, more than 200 of which have gone to the Conservative Party.
The whipping is not unexpected, for Brown, in a few short months, has descended into the uncomfortable realm of wide unpopularity, partly because of the stinging reports of corruption by almost his entire Cabinet.
Not merely because of the bond that has long existed 'tween her and Trinbago, it would be remiss of me were I not to sound the clarion call: "Look what the people do the Mother Country! Let's follow their lead!"
